Shelterbox Display and Blood Pressure Clinic

View ImageMonaghan Rotary Club held a very successful Shelterbox Display and Blood Pressure Clinic at Monaghan Shopping Centre in early November.

With the aid of the Nursing Staff from the Monaghan Hospital, the clinic allowed more than 300 people to have their blood pressure recorded.

Alongside the clinic,club members manned a Shelterbox Display. Shelterbox is an International Disaster Relief charity and as a Rotary project, it is the largest ever undertaken by the organisation. At a cost of less than £500, a Shelterbox can be shipped to a disaster zone and will provide an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent and other lifesaving equipment to help them surviveView Image displacement and homelessness as a result of natural disaster. All equipment is new, robust and tailored to the terrain of the disaster zone.

The Monaghan Rotary Club recently donated €3000 which will purchase and deliver 6 Shelterboxes directly to those who need it. For more information, visit the Shelterbox Website.
